Dave Hannah &
The Kauri Point Woodcraft Story…
After 30 years dairy farming in the Central Plateau Dave and his wife Leigh moved to the beautiful Bay of Plenty for a complete change of lifestyle and a little less stress.
Now living and working on a Kiwifruit and Avocado orchard, the new pace of life has allowed Dave to spend more time doing what he loves, getting creative in the shed!
Dave is constantly on the lookout for timber that can be salvaged or milled and particularly enjoys breaking down wine barrels using the French oak timber to create beautiful homeware pieces.
As a farmer Dave’s attitude has always been “Don’t throw it - fix it!”
Dave gets huge satisfaction and enjoyment creating items from recycled native timber. “There is nothing better than standing back and looking at the finished piece.”
